Ghota Saag

                          


Ingredients:

Spinach                250g

Saag 250g

Dry fenugreek as required

Ginger garlic paste 3tbsp

Onions 1

Green chilies 3-4

Crushed red chilies 1tbsp

Turmeric powder 1tsp

Crushed black pepper 1/2tsp

Cumin powder 1/2tsp

All spice powder 1/2tsp

Butter 4-5tbsp

Oil 3-4tbsp

Salt  as required

Method:

In a deep skillet add the saag, spinach, dried or fresh fenugreek, 2tbsp ginger garlic paste, green chilies, chopped onions and water as required.

Cook until the water dries and the greens are soft.

Pound to a paste with a wooden mathni or ravai, while it is being cooked.

Heat 3-4 tbsp of oil in a pan along with 4-5 tbsp of butter. Add the remaining ginger garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes

Add 1tbsp red chili crushed,1tsp turmeric, black pepper, cumin powder, all spice powder and salt

Cook for a few minutes and pour over the saag.

The delicious ghota saag is ready to serve
